Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) was an American actor, singer, and dancer. The first Broadway roles are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. For her role as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she won the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors in stage and on screen throughout her entire career. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. It will also be available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will be seen opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the control of the production. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the first impeachment proceeding in America in Over a Century. In two seasons, Ashford was the main character of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role as Essie. Other Broadway roles includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and now divides the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
